Real Wedding | Dark and Moody Wedding At Victory North

Real Weddings

One thing we love about weddings is how every couple has a unique personality and unique style. Celeste and David enjoy a dark aesthetic with gothic undertones. So, we wanted to honor their style and personality through a dark and moody wedding design that had bold pops of color.

Dark and moody wedding design

We worked alongside Design Studio South to bring our couple’s dark and moody wedding aesthetic to life through their floral design and wedding decor.

The couple wanted everything to be dark, from the black taper candles, turquoise velvet linens, dark-colored flowers, and greenery. Everything reflected our couple’s dark and moody wedding aesthetic.

Dark and moody wedding flowers

We were inspired by the bride’s vibrant turquoise-dyed hair for their floral design, so we ordered some dyed preserved foliage to match. It’s safe to say the dyed foliage was a huge hit!

For this unique dark and moody wedding design, we ordered custom-painted anthuriums from Haus of Stems. I’d been wanting to use these for a while and knew this would be the perfect event to showcase them. Our team incorporated the stunning painted anthuriums into the bridal bouquet and altar backdrop.

Inside the reception space, chandeliers were covered in dyed teal plumosa and hung above dramatic wedding tables. These dramatic wedding tables were set with dark and moody wedding flowers that were incorporated into tall floral centerpieces and low floral arrangements.

My favorite element of the day was the breathtaking floral wedding ceremony arch! Complete with the purple alliums popping up from the ground, this dramatic altar backdrop was meant for this couple.

We don’t often get requests for dark and moody weddings, so it was a fun challenge for our team to pull off this dark and dramatic wedding aesthetic for Celeste and David. Not only was the design a fun challenge, but they were all-around dream clients to work with. If you have a unique wedding design that you’ve been dreaming about, we’d love to help bring the floral design to life! No wedding aesthetic is too abstract or unique for the Gray Harper team! Reach out to find out how we can bring your dream wedding aesthetic to life through beautiful blooms!

Real Baby Shower | Andrea’s Baby Shower

Events

Earlier this year, we hosted a baby shower at the Gray Harper studio with a feminine floral and pink design for my second baby, baby Beatrice. After spending years having to draw my attention away from the color pink (as my first born was a boy), I wanted to celebrate our baby girl with everything pink!

Upon arrival, we welcomed our guests with a fabulous pink balloon installation by Pop Squad Balloons. We completed the balloon installation with sprigs of pink baby’s breath, making it the perfect baby shower backdrop.

Danielle from Design Studio South and I designed an intimate table setting for baby Beatrice’s baby shower inside the studio. The base of the design was inspired by a soft pink and modern look. We set the table with soft pink velvet linens and bold printed pink floral napkins from Nuage Designs. Each place setting was brought to life with my grandmother’s china, rented flatware, and of course, pink candles and flowers. One of my favorite features was the pink floral installation that I made to hang above the table. Leading up to Beatrice’s baby shower, we hand-painted each baby’s breath in two shades of pink. This pink baby’s breath played a key role in the baby shower design and was incorporated throughout the space. Thanks to Vanilla and The Bean my baby shower cake dreams came true with this stunning pink baby shower cake!

Given the crazy times we were in at the beginning of the year, it was so wonderful to be able to celebrate baby Beatrice with eight lovely ladies for an in-person baby shower. Being pregnant at the time of covid-19 was a surreal experience, but my heart has been so full of all the love that our little girl has received.

Real Wedding | Spring Inspired Jekyll Island Club Wedding

Real Weddings

This past February, we had the pleasure of working with L+E on their Jekyll Island Club wedding at Crane Cottage. The couple wanted a fun and bright spring-inspired color palette, so lots of beautiful blooms were chosen to bring this garden-style wedding to life.

Crane Cottage Sunken Garden Wedding Ceremony

The sunken garden of Crane Cottage was the perfect Georgia wedding venue for our couple and their Jekyll Island Club wedding. Crane Cottage is known for its beautiful lawns and immaculate gardens and was an ideal setting for this spring-inspired wedding.

A pair of vintage doors with greenery intertwined were set up on the lawn as an entrance to the aisle, while two beautiful pillar floral arrangements greeted guests to their seats. At the end of the aisle, a simple yet elegant wood wedding arch with greenery was the backdrop for this Jekyll Island Club wedding ceremony. There was something so magical about seeing the vintage doors open as our bride headed down the aisle.

Garden Style Wedding Reception

After the outdoor wedding ceremony at the sunken gardens, our couple treated their guests to a cocktail hour on the terrace and garden-style reception on the veranda overlooking the courtyard. The floral pillars from the wedding ceremony were re-used in the reception space, while a beautiful floral arrangement was displayed in the courtyard fountain as a focal point.

Elegant long tables were set with crisp white linens, vintage metal bistro chairs, and fun, bright springtime blooms that brought this garden-style wedding reception to life. The floral design included a spring color palette of soft pinks, peach, and white. When possible, we opted for fragrant florals in the centerpieces; the hyacinths and sweet peas smelt amazing!

To end the evening with a bang, our bride and groom enjoyed a private fireworks show for their guests and their Jekyll Island Club wedding.

We are so thankful that we got to work with L+E on their floral design. It was fun to work with bright and beautiful blooms for all of their guests to enjoy! Be sure to check out some of our favorite recent wedding designs for more spring-inspired weddings

Real Wedding | A Garden Style Rooftop Wedding in Savannah

Real Weddings

Kristin and Teddy’s garden-style wedding at the Perry Lane Hotel was inspired by a classic white and green garden-style wedding palette. Their timeless southern wedding design perfectly fits their rooftop wedding ceremony overlooking the Savannah skyline and garden-inspired reception.

Kristin and Teddy’s day started with an emotional first look in Forsyth Park. The two exchanged love notes during their first look and enjoyed some intimate photos.

Rooftop Wedding Ceremony At The Perry Lane Hotel

The rooftop wedding ceremony took place high above the Savannah skyline at the Perry Lane Hotel, where the view was unforgettable. The faux grass rooftop of the hotel provided the perfect setting for this garden-inspired wedding ceremony.

Our team designed classic floral wedding arrangements with white blooms and lush greenery for the ceremony. The aisle was lined with bountiful white blooms that paired nicely with Kristin’s bridal bouquet. Kristin and Teddy met at the end of the aisle and said their vows under a delicate floral wedding ceremony arch. The floral wedding ceremony arch highlighted white blooms of peonies, roses, tulips, and lily of the valley while simple and elegant greenery intertwined among the florals.

A Garden-Style Wedding Reception

Rooftop Wedding Cocktail Hour

After the rooftop wedding ceremony, everyone enjoyed a cocktail reception on the roof. Guests mixed and mingled amongst elegant ivory cocktail tables and a modern lounge while bistro lights twinkled above. Before heading down to the ballroom, guests found their names amongst a modern seating chart made of faux boxwood.

Wedding Reception

Inside the hotel, the classic white and green garden-inspired wedding design continued. Our team designed luxurious tall wedding centerpieces that were elevated above the guest’s tables, while we also re-purposed the aisle arrangements in front of the stage where they looked right at home. With a room filled with beautiful blooms, overhead guests were drawn to the beauty of the room and the garden-inspired wedding design that was featured throughout.

Simple accents of gold were incorporated into the wedding reception decorations with the help of the gold centerpiece pillars, gold cutlery, and elegant gold-rimmed charger plates.

The Gray Harper team loved transforming this lavish Savannah wedding venue into the garden-style rooftop wedding that our couple envisioned. There truly is no limit to your dream floral design! Check out more of our fabulous floral designs in our portfolio– we hope they inspire you!

Real Wedding | Sensational Sea Island Wedding in Georgia

Real Weddings

After three postponements due to the pandemic, it was an absolute joy to finally celebrate Kelley + Watts Sea Island wedding. The couple welcomed family and friends to their destination wedding in Georgia with a weekend of wedding activities. The wedding weekend began with a relaxed wedding welcome party with a tropical atmosphere and ended with the joy of Kelley + and Watts celebrating their marriage with out-of-town guests.

Classic White Floral Design

Our bride, Kelley, had a vision of all-white florals with a dash of tropical elements on her Sea Island wedding day. So, the Gray Harper team created a floral design with lush white blooms and lots of greenery. For the bridal party, we blended ferns and orchids with all white flowers to create green and white wedding bouquets. The bridesmaids and bridal bouquets were filled with texture-rich white blooms like Stock flowers, Hellebore, Phalaenopsis Orchids and Anthurium. While the groom’s and groomsmen’s boutonnieres were made with white mini Cymbidium Orchids.

Tropical Floral Details At Sea Island Wedding

Kellie Ryan Designs did a wonderful job at designing the reception space to highlight the bride and groom’s all-white and tropical floral vision. Centrepieces and floral arrangements included a variety of textured white blooms like anthuriums, canterbury bells, orchid stems, and orchid plants. Palm leaves and ferns were used to bring the tropical elements of the design to life.

Guest tables were draped with crisp white linens and topped with greenery runners, white blooms, french gray-coloured pillar candles, and votives. The chandeliers were draped with lush greenery, which provided an element of depth to the reception space.

One of the most memorable features of this Sea Island wedding reception was the two breathtaking floral arrangements that wrapped the pillars of the entrance. These installations welcomed guests as they entered the space and were the perfect pieces to set the tone for the evening.

As florists, we love to create unique and stunning personalized designs for each of our couples! When designing the florals for Kelley + Watts Sea Island wedding, we wanted to bring the bride’s all-white floral and tropical vision to life in every floral element possible. Each detail was thoughtfully chosen and incorporated into the design, from the moment guests arrived and saw the statement floral installation to the bridesmaids all white tropical-inspired bouquets. If you are dreaming of a destination wedding in Georgia, we would love to work with you! We love bringing our couple’s unique visions to life through the beauty of flowers!

Real Reception | A Relaxed & Refined Wedding Welcome Party

Real Weddings

For this wedding welcome party on St. Simons Island, we had the pleasure of working with our couple Kelley and Watts, along with their fantastic planner, Kellie Ryan. After postponing their original St Simons Island wedding due to Covid 19, it was a joy to work with them on their re-imagined wedding welcome party at Village Creek Landing.

A Welcome Party At Village Creek Landing

Village Creek Landing is a gorgeous Georgia wedding venue for a casual Lowcountry event. Guests can enjoy the vast property and beautiful marsh views overlooking Sea Island and Little St Simons Island with both outdoor and indoor space. This Georgia wedding venue was also the perfect setting for a large crowd to gather during the pandemic. With lots of outdoor space and different areas for guests to explore, everyone was able to feel safe at this wedding welcome party.

The Wedding Welcome Party Design

As this was Kelley and Watts’s third time planning their wedding welcome party, the couple entrusted the Gray Harper team with creating a design inspired by their venue’s relaxed atmosphere on St. Simons Island.

For their design, our team took inspiration from Kelley and Watts’s simple yet classic taste and blended it with tropical elements that complemented the surrounding foliage of St. Simons Island. Florals with soft blue tones were paired with peach blooms. Pops of orange and mustard were incorporated into the design to give it a fun and exciting twist on tradition. Tropical greenery was infused throughout with preserved palms and dried florals to provide the floral design with a relaxed feel.

Classic blue and ivory linens highlighted the venue’s tropical elements and paired perfectly with the floral design. We brought in the most beautiful cashmere-colored candles that glistened amongst the blooms for the guest’s tables.

The Gray Harper team loved being on St. Simons for this wedding welcome party. We are honored when our clients trust us to bring their events to life. We’d love to chat with you more about your wedding vision and help your Georgia wedding dreams come to life!

Real Wedding | Saint Simons Island Destination Wedding

Real Weddings

This past October we had the pleasure of working with Amir and Bess for their destination wedding at the King and Prince Resort on Saint Simons Island. The couple had a unique vision for their wedding day and wanted a fusion of 1920’s glam with some tropical Island accents. Both Bess and her mother were very knowledgeable about specific floral types and worked with our team to select their favorite blooms which we incorporated into the design.

As the Calla Lily is an important flower to Bess we went with a simple and classic bridal bouquet with all white Calla Lilies. Bess tied a vintage Hermes scarf around the stems of her bouquet, as a way to incorporate a family heirloom.

Tropical Glam Design

To continue with this all-white classic floral design, white bouquets and boutonnieres were created for each member of the wedding party. For the bridesmaid’s bouquets, we designed each with a single flower type of different white blooms. We loved this idea because it emphasized how each bridesmaid is part of the group but also different. We did the same thing with the groomsmen boutonnieres, designing each with a different white focal bloom. This was a beautiful way to honor the unique and special relationships Amir and Bess have with their wedding party members.

For the ceremony, lush white floral arrangements with tropical accents were elevated on acrylic stands as to not take away from the focal blooms. Bundles of tropical greenery and simple white florals were incorporated throughout the ceremony space and were the perfect selection for this destination wedding on Saint Simons Island.

At the reception, the stunning five-tiered wedding cake was definitely the showstopper of the evening. Designed with fresh white Calla Lillies and petite fern leaves this wedding cake was the epitome of tropical glam. The reception space at this destination wedding on Saint Simons Island included tall centerpieces with flamboyant tropical foliage, along with simple and subtle bud vases for small white floral blooms.

With a number of different types of blooms and greenery included in the design, there were a number of dynamic interests and elements within each arrangement. We love how we were able to bring Bess’s vision of a 1920’s glam design with tropical accents to life with only the simple green foliage and white blooms.

If you are planning a destination wedding in Georgia and are looking for a floral designer to bring your unique design to life, we’d love to hear from you!

Real Wedding | Modern & Pink Wedding at Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum

Real Weddings

One year after their initially planned wedding, S+D had a beautiful destination wedding at Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum. The couple had to postpone their original plans due to Covid 19 because they and their guests were traveling from Brooklyn, NY. After having a small wedding on their original date in Maine, the couple renewed their vows in a fabulous destination wedding in Savannah with friends and family nearby.

Fun fact, S+D’s wedding took place at the same venue as my wedding reception exactly 11 years later. It was so fun to celebrate the couple on our 11th wedding anniversary!

Modern & Pink Wedding Design

The bride had envisioned a modern and pink wedding design for her wedding at Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum. To bring this design to life, we used all pink blooms with minimal greenery and modern vessels. The floral centerpieces were paired with sage-colored taper candles for the reception. The one floral item that didn’t have pink was the bridal bouquet, which was designed with all-white blooms and stood out beautifully.

On the day of the wedding, it poured all day. Luckily, it stopped just in time for the ceremony, the skies cleared, and the sun shined down on the happy couple. Our bride looked absolutely stunning in her modern and sleek Carolina Herrera wedding dress as she walked down the aisle. For the wedding ceremony, the couple stood between two modern floral pillars with gold stands and pink florals that were set up at the base of the steps in front of the William Scarbrough House.

We had so much fun working on this floral design for this modern and pink wedding! Over 1200 stems of baby’s breath were used for this event, each of which was individually painted pink by our team. One of our favorite details of the floral design for this wedding at Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum was the floral installation for the reception. Billowing bundles of pink baby’s breath were suspended along with sparkling disco balls above the dance floor, and the results were more than we could’ve imagined!

Sometimes when plans don’t go as intended, the alternate arrangements can go much better than ever imagined. This was the case with S+D’s postponed Savannah wedding at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum. After a year of waiting to celebrate the couple, guests traveled to Savannah for this destination wedding, and we were incredibly excited to join in on the festivities. If your original wedding plans don’t go as intended, we will be there for you to help adjust plans and your design so that you can have the wedding of your dreams! Fill out our inquiry form on our website, and we’d be happy to help you bring your floral design to life!

Real Wedding | Fall Inspired Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum Wedding

Real Weddings

When we met Olivia and Michael, they were working with Design Studio South to design a beautiful neutral-toned Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum wedding. The couple chose this Savannah wedding venue for its beautiful gardens and outdoor space. Design Studio South did a fantastic job designing an event that highlighted the gardens in a whimsical and romantic setting.

Outdoor Ceremony At Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum Wedding

For this wedding at the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, the outdoor wedding ceremony took place in front of the historic Scarbrough House. Dark wood folding chairs were set out for guests while the aisle was lined with low-lying floral arrangements of blush pink, peach, and white-toned blooms. The bride and groom stood under a stunning floral wedding ceremony arch that went perfectly with the space. When designing the floral wedding ceremony arch, we chose to incorporate white dahlias, white roses, peach dahlias, peach ranunculus, and peach roses with lots of greenery. This floral wedding ceremony arch turned out to be one of our favorite design aspects!

Fall Wedding Reception With Neutral Tones

The incredible vendor team set up a combination of long and circle tables under the roofed pavilion for this Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum wedding reception. Each guest table was set with white textured linens, wood Helix chairs, and a mixture of tall and short floral arrangements. We used two different colored taper candles in “moss” and “seaside” to round out the design.

Neutral fall tones with pops of peach-colored blooms were the inspiration behind the wedding design. Our couple loved to incorporate blooms wherever possible, from the beautiful floral installation at the sweetheart table to the lush garden of flowers on the cake table. This elegant neutral fall color palette was thoughtfully incorporated in every aspect of the wedding reception. Elements such as the white anemone flower added a touch of modern elegance to the space.

It was an absolute joy working with Olivia, Micheal, and the Design Studio South team for this neutral-toned fall wedding! We loved how Olivia and Micheal embraced florals and had them featured everywhere at their event. Our team enjoys creating a custom floral design that is unique to you! We’d love to chat with you more about your wedding vision and help it come to life!

Real Wedding | Simple & Elegant Destination Wedding in Savannah

Real Weddings

Grace and Sean originally had a beautiful destination wedding in Savannah planned for September 2021. However, like many other couples, they chose to postpone their wedding due to Covid 19. Almost exactly one year later, the two said their vows during a beautiful garden wedding ceremony in the Scarbrough Garden at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.

On the wedding day, it was the perfect Southern weather for a wedding in Savannah! Typically Savannah can still be quite hot in September. However, the week leading up to the wedding brought cooler than usual temperatures. These temperatures were not only favourable for Grace and Sean’s guests, but the flowers also loved it!

Simple Yet Stunning Wedding Design

Grace and Sean had a clear vision for their wedding day design. For this destination wedding in Savannah, they wanted the day to have a simple and classic aesthetic focused on greenery. Grace expressed her love for greenery during our initial consultations, we knew it had to be a focal point of the floral design.

Our team paired traditional white blooms with lush greenery for this classic wedding design. A selection of white flowers including dahlias, hydrangeas, roses, ranunculus, and iris’ were used. In addition, the white anemone flower was chosen as an accent to the floral design bringing a modern element to the arrangements. We love the anemone flower with its dark black and sometimes navy center as a way to add a touch of color to all-white floral designs.

Garden Wedding Ceremony

Located in the historic district of Savannah, the Scarbrough gardens at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum were the perfect wedding venue for this destination wedding in Savannah. The William Scarbrough House is home to the largest private gardens in Savannah. With this in mind, we knew there was already endless amounts of beauty at the ceremony site, so attention was focused on the bridal bouquet and bridesmaid flowers. Various white blooms were used for the bouquets that were finished with an elegant dusty blue ribbon.

Ships Of The Sea Wedding Reception

Amongst guest tables, we rotated tall and low centerpieces designed with white florals and greenery. It was the perfect combination for this mixed floorplan with round and long tables.

The tall centerpiece arrangements on the round tables consisted of all greenery and paired nicely with the simple aesthetic. We incorporated over five different types of foliage in each arrangement to create texture and variety. The greenery for this wedding was sourced locally and was foraged from a local friend’s farm here in Savannah.

On the long tables, we placed blue pillar candles with greenery intertwined and elegant white floral centerpieces in white vases. We were so excited that we were able to source pillar candles that matched the dusty blue color palette, and we love how they tied the design together.
From the all-green centerpieces to the greenery intertwined in the reception decor, this simple and classic floral design worked perfectly for this destination wedding in Savannah. Whether you are local to Savannah or planning your dream destination wedding beyond, we’d love to work with you to bring your design vision to life! So, reach out and let us know where you are planning your dream destination wedding!

Real Wedding | Soft And Subtle Floral Design At Jekyll Island Club

Real Weddings

Last March, we had the honor to work with Kathryn and Jeffrey on their floral design for their destination wedding in Georgia. We worked with the couple to design their florals for their welcome reception, wedding ceremony, and wedding reception.

When choosing a Georgia wedding venue, having a beautiful garden setting was essential to Kathryn and Jeffrey. So, the two decided on the Jekyll Island Club Resort, a historic wedding venue on the Georgian coast. With a picturesque Southern setting, this quaint little island is the perfect place for a destination wedding in Georgia.

Behind The Wedding Design

During our initial consultation, Kathryn shared that she wanted a floral design with mainly white blooms that incorporate pops of subtle blue and soft blush flowers. In addition, it was important that her wedding flowers complimented the lovely garden setting of Crane Cottage and its immaculately landscaped sunken gardens.

Kathryn’s family had a special sentiment to the blue Irises. So, a special mother’s bouquet was created for Kathryn’s mom that incorporated this important family flower.

With the wedding boom in full swing, we knew some challenges would be upon us. What was unexpected was that these challenges would come so early into the year. Many florists and designers have had to navigate flower shortages and floral shipping delays; this wedding was our first experience managing these floral shipping delays. Kathryn’s flowers were actually stuck in Tennessee for two days before we could get our hands on them. Thankfully our amazing Gray Harper team jumped in as soon as their flowers arrived to help bring this beautiful floral design to life!

The Wedding Ceremony

Kathryn and Jeffery got to enjoy a magical outdoor wedding ceremony in the sunken gardens of Crane Cottage. Part of their wedding and floral design was to continue celebrations at an outdoor reception on the lawn. Unfortunately, due to unpredictable weather, we had to make a rain call earlier in the day. So, we decided to move the reception indoors to the Jekyll Island Club Resort’s ballroom. As unlucky as this change in plans was, our couples indoor wedding reception turned out beautifully, thanks to an incredible vendor team.

Kathryn’s bridal bouquet included the most stunning combination of white blooms with pops of soft blush Ranunculus. Her bridesmaids held smaller bouquets that complemented this lush bridal bouquet. Each bridesmaid bouquet included petite dusty blue florals along with soft blue and pink ribbons that complimented their dusty blue bridesmaid dresses. One of our favorite design elements of this wedding was the paper cones filled with white rose petals. Kathryn and Jeffery had their guests throw rose pedals during their processional, and it was absolutely magical!

The Wedding Reception

Long wooden tables were set up under a magical array of twinkling lights and subtle greenery inside the ballroom. Dusty blue accents were sprinkled throughout the reception design with the inclusion of blue napkins, blue water goblets, and light blue Tweedia flowers in the centerpieces. While soft pink florals were highlighted on the wedding cake and added to the centerpieces. From votives to vases, delicate accents of gold complimented each table, while the guest place settings were finished with individual sprigs of olive.

Even though our couples wedding had a few minor bumps along the way, we are so pleased to see how this floral design came together. The combination of subtle blue, soft blush, and classy white blooms brought this wedding to life. We love working with couples to bring their floral design visions to life and incorporating special touches along the way. So be sure to reach out and start your wedding design process with us!

Real Wedding | Tropical Fall Destination Wedding at Sea Pines Resort

Real Weddings

Beth and Doug live in the Washington D.C. area but wanted a destination affair that their guests would love! The two often travel to Hilton Head for vacations, and to spend time with family and friends, so it was the obvious choice for the destination wedding. They both love the southern charm and endless beaches.

When picking a venue, they wanted a resort where guests could stay on-site and they could keep all the events on a single property. Sea Pines Resort was a perfect choice! This luxury venue provides breathtaking views and indoor and outdoor spaces for your reception.

Their original wedding date was October 2020, but they rescheduled for one year later due to Covid. It was wonderful to finally be able to celebrate with them and create these designs we had been planning for so long!

Tropical Jewel Tones And Fall Colors

Beth loves jewel tones and tropical leaves but wanted it to still be within the theme of Fall. We love to create unique designs and combine different elements into one beautiful event. Bright, bold flowers and tropical leaves were an unexpectedly perfect pairing at this celebration. The bridesmaids wore green satin gowns, making red and orange really pop.

The couple picked The Liberty Oak for their ceremony, where a centuries-old moss-draped oak provided the perfect backdrop. Floral installations enhanced the gorgeous space and added the touch of bold jewel tones that Beth loves.

Reception at Sea Pines Resort

Everything was scheduled to be held outdoors on the lawn and patio, but the weather had different plans. Looming storm clouds forced the reception to be moved indoors. We worked side by side with the amazing team at Sea Pines Resort to execute a completely new floor plan and space, and everything turned out perfectly. When planning your wedding, you want a team of professionals who know how to handle anything – including moving your reception indoors when it rains!

We incorporated a variety of materials—including patterned linens, metal, tropical leaves, and glass—into their décor. The long al-fresco-style tables were draped with greenery, and dozens of pillar candles added a soft glow. Even after pushing their wedding back, the couple was so happy to be together with everyone they love and celebrate! While we are based in Savannah, we work all over the Low Country, from Hilton Head to Sea Island, and beyond. We look forward to hearing from you!

Real Wedding | Summer Southern Elegance at Charles H Morris Center

Real Weddings

The theme of Rachel and Joe’s Savannah wedding was summer meets southern elegance and was filled with so many carefully curated details. The couple chose Savannah after visiting it a few times and quickly fell in love with the charm.

Rachel and her mom were incredible clients to work with! They gave us a few key details on what they envisioned and let us create freely. As florists, there is nothing better than getting to design a complete experience!

Large peonies were the focal point of Rachel’s bouquet, and a delicate touch of anemones and garden roses were tied together with greenery for an organic shape. Delphinium added the classic blue hue, which tied into the bridesmaid’s gowns.

Their ceremony took place at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist, one of the most iconic spots in Historic Savannah. We couldn’t add a floral arch to the cathedral’s front entrance, so instead, we created loosely twisted (and poetically romantic) stairwell garlands.

A Garden Filled Reception At Charles Morris Center

When designing the reception, we wanted to completely transform the Charles H. Morris Center into a floral-filled garden – and we delivered! We worked side-by-side with the planners of Sincerely Yours Events to bring Rachel’s vision to life. Not only did we focus on the inside of the venue, but also the courtyard. The large hall opens into the patio, creating a wonderful flow for guests. They can mingle under the covered area or enjoy Downtown Savannah and the river views. We used large trellises covered in greenery and roses to create intimate seating areas. Vintage-inspired seating was placed throughout, creating thoughtful spaces.

A focal point of the reception was the sweetheart table. The couple sat together at a round table, with large arrangements in front, and Rachel’s bouquet displayed in the center. We also included Rachel’s dream floral arch, which went behind their sweetheart table and added texture and color. It tied the space together perfectly and was later used as a fun photo backdrop later in the night! Here at Gray Harper, we are all about creating a unique experience. We took the traditional brick hall at the Charles H. Morris Center and turned it into a garden! As you plan your event here in Savannah, we would love to create a complete experience customized just for you.

Real Wedding | Natural and Coastal Wedding at Sea Pines Resort

Real Weddings

Spring weddings in the Low Country are some of our favorites to design. Cade and Emily wanted a wedding that showed off the beautiful Spring in Hilton Head, with thoughtfully designed details. Emily is an Earth scientist, so it was important to keep the design earthy and natural. Her favorite flower is the Panda Anemone, one of the first flowers to bloom in the Spring, so it was the perfect starting point in her wedding design!

We took the black and white colors of the anemone and added soft blues and a buttercup yellow for a touch of color. When selecting their flowers, we added lots of different textures and unique shapes. Peonies, delphinium, scabiosa, and seasonal blooms created a playful design that fitted with this luxurious coastal wedding. The design carried touches of blue throughout the wedding. The bridesmaids wore blue satin gowns, with hand-wrapped bouquets in shades of cream, yellow and cornflower blue.

Outdoor Wedding at Sea Pines Resort

The couple chose Sea Pines for their wedding, which is a coastal resort on Hilton Head. This venue combines Low Country charm with a sophisticated atmosphere. They decided to have their ceremony at the Liberty Oak, which is a staple of Sea Pines. The majestic limbs of this centuries-old moss-draped Oak create a stunning backdrop for handwritten vows.

As we designed the reception, which took place lawn under a large tent, we focused on creating an organic design. Large loquat trees were placed at the base of each tent pole to make the room feel much more natural. The mix of round and rectangle tables created interest, and they were covered in gray textured linen. The tables had candles and floral centerpieces that continued the neutral color palette, with some touches of golden yellow for a little bit of color. We used a variety of vintage trophy goblets to keep the pieces low and allow for conversation between guests at each table.

We added Spanish moss to the oversized chandeliers at the last minute, and it tied everything together! Our favorite installations are simple yet make a statement. All of the greenery we added throughout really made the reception feel like a garden and made this couple’s vision come to life! We are so thankful we got to design this event for Cade and Emily!

Real Wedding | Crane Cottage Wedding At Jekyll Island Club

Real Weddings

On a crisp January day, Kait and Eric said I do in front of their closet family and friends. As a designer, Kait dreamed of a personalized event where she could use her creativity to design a thoughtful and meaningful experience for her guests. When the couple started planning their wedding, they both fell in love with the Golden Isles and Jekyll Island Club.

With incredible coastal views, Jekyll Island Club is one of our favorites to work at! As soon as you step onto the grounds, you are greeted by Crane Cottage. Built in 1919, Crane Cottage is inspired by Italian Renaissance architecture and provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding.

Fall Inspired Hues

Kait wanted a lovely fall-toned wedding palette with soft creams, marigolds, rust, and mauve. We took color inspiration from her bridesmaids, who all wore gowns in various shades of blush and copper. Kait’s bouquet featured copper cymbidium orchids, tied loosely together with cream ranunculus, mauve roses, and handpicked flowers in shades of honey and blush.

They chose to have their ceremony outdoors in the sunken garden, which provided guests with a picturesque view. Since this space is already gorgeous, we kept the ceremony decor simple, with pampas, grass, and candles to make the area romantic. The couple incorporated a Celtic handfasting tradition into their ceremony to honor their Irish and Scottish heritage. They chose meaningful cords, including a guitar string from Eric’s first guitar and a ribbon from Kait’s first ballet slipper. It was such a touching moment and so meaningful for both families.

Intimate Wedding at Crane Cottage

The reception took place on the wrap-around porch of Crane Cottage, just steps away from the ceremony. This venue allows for guests to really enjoy the property and take in its incredible beauty! They can mingle during cocktail hour while you get sunset portraits by the water.

To create intimate spaces for guests to connect, we styled a seating area on the lawn featuring a cozy rug and chairs. Kait designed pieces throughout the day, including the wedding invitations and the escort sign. Large dahlias were featured on the large printed sign, which bought the beautiful fall colors inside Crane Cottage. Long tables were covered in white linens, and the centerpieces were thoughtfully designed to allow for conversation during dinner. Small vases were placed throughout and tied into the velvet napkins and gold silverware. Tapered candles finished the design and added a soft glow to the evening.

It was such a joy to design this wedding with this sweet couple! From the paper to the napkins, every single detail came together to create a stunning wedding. You can see more of this romantic affair featured on The White Wren!

Real Wedding | Autumn Savannah Wedding

Real Weddings

We love creating gorgeous color palettes with our couples, and Tracey and Charlie’s autumn Savannah wedding was a dream come true! Since we are in the deep south, fall isn’t as lavish here. So we are always seeking a beautiful fall color palette and love to use unique color combinations. For this November wedding, we worked with Tara Skinner Events to create this perfectly detailed affair.

For the color palette, we started with an autumn sunset as our inspiration. We pulled in shades of marigold, cream, apricot, and berries. To accent this warm color palette, shades of soft sage were added with the bridesmaid’s dresses and paper. The pop of green sage balanced out the autumn caramel hues.

Tracy and Charlie were initially supposed to be married at Victory North, but the pandemic forced them to switch venues to Charlie’s family home on the water in Savannah. While it was a different location, it worked out flawlessly. The ceremony took place overlooking the water, with the most beautiful sunset that popped out after a day of rain. The ceremony arch was a statement piece! It was covered in flowers, with draping ivy and greenery that was tied into the reception.

Autumn-Inspired Flowers For a Coastal Savannah Wedding

Since the reception took place on the family’s property, we wanted to make sure the tent was exceptional. The large clear tent provided the guests with cover from the rain, while the strung lights and endless candles provided the softest glow. We hung greenery across the ceiling and created a focal point as guests walked inside. The tables were a mix of large farm tables with rounds, which made an intimate setting. The farm tables featured copper candlestick holders with cream candles. Clear bud vases and gold mercury glass added metallic touches to the reception and bar.

When it comes to designing a wedding, the florals are truly what tell the story. From the color palette to the texture to every little stem, flowers tie it all together. We turned a family property into a fall escape for Tracy and Charlie, complete with lush blooms and statement details. If you dream of a wedding like this one, we would love to work together! We can turn your dream into a floral experience that you, and your guest, will cherish!

Real Wedding | Nautical Wedding at the Savannah Yacht Club

Real Weddings

Katherine and Keifer were married this June, surrounded by their closest family and friends at the Savannah Yacht Club. This couple are Savanah natives but never met growing up. It wasn’t until a mutual friend mentioned they should meet that they did, and the rest is history! Located a short drive outside of downtown Savannah, this is the ideal venue for couples looking for a coastal view, with a timeless reception space.

As florists, we love to create unique and stunning designs that are personalized for each of our couples! When it came to the flowers, Katherine specifically asked for no roses. Her vision for the wedding was showcasing the beauty of Savannah, with plenty of nautical details. For the bouquets, we focused on palm leaves and ferns, with all white flowers. Since Katherine didn’t want roses, we made sure to pick large statement flowers like dahlias and ranunculus while giving organic drape and texture with orchids and anthurium.

Nautical Details at the Savannah Yacht Club

To tie in the nautical elements for the groomsmen, we tied nautical knots on all of the boutonnieres. The coastal theme was tied into the reception as well, which was inside the Savannah Yacht Club. Design Studio South worked with the couple to design a reception that made the all-white flower and tropical greenery stand out. The tables were draped in navy linens and accented with bud vases. The dramatic high ceilings were a focal point of the space, so we created floral statement pieces. The chandeliers were covered in lush palm leaves and greenery that added the most radiant glow as the sun set over the harbor.

When creating the design, the couple wanted some personal items included. So all of the oyster shells that were scattered around the reception were found by the bride and groom’s parents on their home property! It was the perfect way to tie in their local roots while creating an exquisite design detail.

Here at Gray Harper, we are passionate about the complete event experience. From the moment guests first arrive, to the bar details, to the reception design, we work to create an incredible design that ties it all together. When designing the space for Katherine and Keifer, we wanted every detail to carry into each space. Every piece was thought out, from the large palm and floral baskets at the reception to the modern gold and glass bud vases. It was such a beautiful and romantic wedding that we know you will love!

Real Wedding | Elegant Romantic Wedding at The Mansion on Forsyth

Real Weddings

2020 was a year to remember in many ways. However, it was also the year our sweet couple, Bethany + Jesse, had their stunning wedding at The Mansion on Forsyth in downtown Savannah, GA.

We paired up with Design Studio South to design this destination wedding, which included a whole lot of romance and some historic Savannah southern charm.

In addition, their color palette incorporated muted tones with pops of burgundy, which played into the romantic vibe of the outdoor venue itself. To see more of this showstopper, see their gallery below.

Real Wedding | Spring Wedding at The Ford Field & River Club

Real Weddings

We are sending all the happily-ever-after vibes to our sweet couple who braved the torrential downpour, crazy winds and tornado warnings that April 2021 brought the south!

But in the end, our stunning couple was surrounded by all of their family and friends as they tied the knot at St. John’s Cathedral in downtown Savannah, GA, and celebrated their new marriage at The Ford Field and River Club in Richmond Hill, GA. Guests celebrated under white sailcloth event tents and each area of the celebration burst with beautiful spring flowers from the entrance of the venue to the dance floor. The Gray Harper Florals team transformed each space for guests to experience as they danced the night away – check out our designs below!
